“Living another day!!!” : Embracing Vulnerabilities

Ever been asked about your future plans and responded with a nonchalant, “Living another day”? If you have, then we’re probably on the same wavelength. There have been countless instances when I’ve found solace in the notion of “That’s a problem for future me” or the classic “Let’s just get through this day.” But here’s the catch – is this merely procrastination, a mix of emotions, or something deeper? While this approach helps navigate the immediate challenges, it’s more of a temporary fix than a sustainable solution.

Perspectives- The two sides of the coin:

Let’s dissect the difference between “Let’s take one day at a time” and “Let’s just survive today.” The former carries a positive note, urging us to focus on tasks, give our best, all while keeping an eye on long-term goals. It involves calculated planning, taking breaks, embracing risks, and striving for consistency. On the flip side, the latter leans towards avoidance, crossing the 11:59 pm mark each day, with no regard for the bigger picture. It lacks discipline, merely aiming to scrape through the day.

The Challenge:

Admittedly, it’s challenging to pinpoint where one stands without proper introspection. Currently a work-in-progress for me, I grapple with the goal of adopting the first approach. The journey to shift from survival mode to purposeful planning is no walk in the park. It demands a shift in mindset, a commitment to facing challenges head-on, and a willingness to confront the discomfort that change often brings.

The Band-Aid Solution:

This “living another day” mindset, although providing temporary relief, is akin to slapping a band-aid on a wound that requires stitches. It’s a quick fix that doesn’t address the underlying issues. The real growth lies in acknowledging that we can’t keep pushing things off for “future me” to deal with. It’s about realizing that today’s challenges are building blocks for the future we envision.

The Journey Ahead:

As I embark on this journey towards purposeful planning, I anticipate hurdles, moments of self-doubt, and the temptation to revert to survival mode. The process won’t be easy, but each step forward, no matter how small, is a victory.

But….. “Let’s take one day at a time.” 😉

So here’s to facing challenges, embracing growth, and learning to plan not just for today but for the future we desire. Join me on this adventure of “intentional living”.

Chalo bye..
